BrightHaven Entrance Information

Currently BrightHaven is only accepting animals who are enrolled in our Continuous Care Program.

BrightHaven is a Healing Arts Center for animals and our primary focus is to educated the public on the many natural alternatives to conventional health care or euthanasia.

Richard and Gail find it increasingly difficult to continue the extremely demanding schedule needed for hospice care. BrightHaven is therefore unable to accept new residents at this time.

Should BrightHaven receive funding that allows the hiring of more staff members, we would be delighted to rescue more animals in the future. In this event our intake requirement would be as follows:

BrightHaven accepts cats and small dogs, some birds and occasionally other species. These are the primary requirements to live with us:

  • BrightHaven is a hospice for animals and our primary function is the care of animals who have a recommendation for euthanasia due to terminal illness.
  • Senior cats and dogs, who must be at least 16 years of age, and animals with major physical handicaps also qualify to live at BrightHaven.
  • All cats accepted must have a current Aids/Leukemia negative certificate from a veterinarian.
  • For your information, we do NOT vaccinate our animals here and ask that you do not give any vaccinations prior to arrival.
  • We ask that you provide as much previous veterinary history as possible for our records

Financial Requirements

BrightHaven requires a one time donation of $5,000 or a monthly donation, the amount of which will be decided upon application

Kindly email or call the BrightHaven office to have an application form sent to you.

In times past BrightHaven has opened its doors and heart to many animals with no funding.

Our mission is to save as many hardship cases as possible with no financial discrimination.

Note: Giving up your animal can often be avoided and we are happy to give consultations on health and behavior issues to try to salvage a family bond.
