From: Gail Pope of BrightHaven: Holistic Animal Sanctuary and Hospice for Animals.
These are just a few little memories of my friendship with Vicki Allinson, that I would like to share with you all at the celebration of her life on Saturday March 20th 2010.
I would wish to be brief—but Vicki has been a large part of life at BrightHaven for many years, as well as a close personal friend, although we have not been able to see each other much since we both moved away from Southern California some years ago. I would like to say hello though, to those of you there, who may remember me from the one time I visited Vicki and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal together in Prescott I seem to recall?!
So—where to begin I wonder...?
Vicki came to BH to apply for a job as our house cleaner at least 20 years ago…..After a couple of hours on day one it became abundantly clear she was not ever going to be suited to the job, and so she decided to simply become a volunteer, and constant thorn in my side instead!!! I say that, because the first thing she decided to do was to try to change our entire lives, and persuade me towards the path of natural feeding and medicine...Soon, realizing she was also an animal communicator, I then decided she was some kind of lunatic practicing voodoo!!
AND so it began...our relationship that is!!
It took Vicki at least a year of perseverance to persuade me that our animals were not in the good health she perceived they should be, and finally I decided to try feeding this weird and crazy diet of hers....Guess what??—it worked, and we soon had old codgers behaving like spring chickens…Wow, we said...and then she spoiled it all by introducing me to the world of energy medicine and classical homeopathy—Now I knew her to be crazy!!!
To cut a long story short, we were shown several miracles of healing, which gave me the push I needed, and soon I had 24 classical veterinary homeopaths treating the BH animals, who began the most amazing journey back to better health and wellness. Of course she also took us down the roads of communication and Feng Shui, which only served to help our mission further and set us right on the road to becoming well-known for our work in the veterinary community—these days even lecturing at UC Davis—and all thanks to Vicki!!
I wish Vicki had been able to enjoy more health and happiness in her own life, but I guess these were the lessons she chose for herself, and I know that, wherever she may be now, that we will meet again and she knows just how important a part she has played in my life.
