BrightHaven’s Bulletin Board

For Senior and Special Needs Animals in the Community

Over the years BrightHaven has acquired a large database comprised of email addresses of animal lovers who support our work and, approximately four years ago we began to network to them the stories of senior or special needs animals in need of new homes for various reasons.

All that was asked of the recipient was to “pay it forward” with love and a prayer, so that as many people as possible can read the story and help the animal find a new home quickly. The results have been astonishingly good and so the operation has become known as The BrightHaven Bulletin Board.

The Bulletin Board is available to circulate information for senior or special needs animals in various situations – for example:

  • Those whose owner/guardian cannot keep them any longer for reasons of hardship.
  • The owner/guardian is deceased and family/friends cannot step in to provide loving care.
  • We also network shelter animals if given adequate time. (We cannot circulate information for animals with close euthanasia deadlines).

How does it work?

Once an application has been accepted for an animal, the details will be circulated via BrightHaven’s email network, Face Book and the PetFinder network. Other resources will also be offered as applicable.  Please note there is a fee for this service; See How Do I Apply.
